For What It's Worth

« on: May 14, 2008, 05:42:54 AM »

Welcome to the DC Forum Dictionary, our little lexicon of snappy snigglets from posts when fingers get flying a little too fast on the keyboard.
When entering a new word, please give attribution to the person that coined it, as well as mention of the person who defined it.
You can also include Forum Jargon.

Have fun!

Thanks to all those that had a hand in getting this off the ground, especially Tammy and Ingmar.

Fufl-adj. (see beatifufl) Abberation of beautiful, truncated to fufl. That which has beauty. Origin-attributed to Debbie; noticed by Ingmar. Members of the forum so loved the way beatifufl sounded, they coined it as an English word. However, having a rather long pronunciation, the members truncated it to fufl (the present day word), which rolls easily off the tongue and saves keystrokes.

Example:

Sue: I just found my shoes for the wedding. Here's a picture.
Joe: Wow, Sue! They are so fufl.

writting-present participle. A combination of writing and knitting. Attributed to Gres. Noticed by Joe.

My mother is writting me a sweater, and it will have my name on it.

Gottem (see gotten). Aberration of gotten, modified into gottem. Origin-attributed to gres; coined by Ingmar. Members of the forum so loved the way gottem sounded, they coined it as an English word. It was decided that gottem should design a smell, it doesn't matter if it's foul or seductive.

Example:

Ingmar: I fancy spicy Asian dishes, love their smell.
Joe: Can't get enough of them either - especially when their aroma is intriguingly gottem.

Don't forget Sue! swan (reference)

defined by Joe:

recignize-verb. Swan procreation. Every spring, the male swan mates with female swan so they can recignize.

monring (noun)- pronounced moan-ring. Abberation of morning. The ring you get from your beloved partner if you promise to moan loud enough. Attributed to Chuck, noticed and defined by Ingmar.

Mod: Also spelled moanring.

Addition to moanring/monring: Can be a ring full of diamonds, can be a simple c**kring, depending on your taste (agreed by Martina).

OK, first zth, then the word, then the swans, then the definition.
