qoute, written by Sue, misspelling of "quote", noticed by Fritz.

A variant of "coat", like what Sue is doing to her house with paint, spoken with a velar plosive deep in the back of the throat, as in Arabic "Qatar".

Iamnothere

I remember when Heath's new film thread for "I'm Not There" opened up and we all thought Uli had started her own thread.  If you look at the first few pages of it, you'll notice how a whole bunch of us were confused... Cheesy

Way back at the beginning of the first diner, when there were so many more on than there is now,
I started addressing and greeting the folks there as the Diners and Dinettes.
It saved having to name everyone.

Diners: the guys who frequented the diner.
Dinettes: the gals who frequented the diner.

Usually used when first coming into the diner when a whole lot of folks were around and when addressing the folks there as a whole, and not to an individual.

Jaking - gerund from the verb "to jake", as in "to drool over look intently at / download / upload / comment on pictures of Jake", and by extension "to indulge in any other miscellaneous Jake-oriented activity", as performed by the above-mentioned Lashers/Lasherinas

And we shouldn't forget this wonderful variation: Jaking off  Grin

Again no idea who used it first... And what it means - well, I guess you can imagine...  Cheesy

Oh, we need to add DOW (Crown Princess, JannisGrin) and DOM (title up for grabs  Roll Eyes).   Evil Grin

And  perhaps a full accounting of Tammy's infamous DPC.   Cheesy

Godess = noun.

Coined by Mia, originally designing forum member gres (Happy), derived from "goddess".

Definition (by Ingmar). Godess = Greek impatient girl, sitting in a bathtub covered in chocolate, eager to seduce innocent French and German men.

DOW & DOM:  Acronyms, specific origins unknown, use began in the Jake's Eyelashes thread.

DOW: Dirty Old Woman.
DOM: Dirty Old Man.

Most commonly used when reviewing/drooling over pics of Jake Gyllenhaal when he was much younger, and the poster says doing this makes them feel like a "Dirty Old Woman/Man".

Example:

Ingmar:  "I want to see some Donnie Darko Jake today."

Jannis:  "I love Donnie Jake, but looking at those pics make me feel like a DOW."

Snork:  Noun or verb, depending on usage.  Origin unknown.  When somebody "snorks", it means they were made to laugh while in the middle of drinking, and whatever it was they were drinking has just shot out of their nose.

Example of usage:

Ingmar:  One of my favorite lines from BBM is when Ennis says he "came upon a bear."

Bubo:  Poor bear, had to go back to his den and wash his fur for the rest of the night.

CellarDweller:  *snork*
