When you are on a phone call, at the bottom of the Skype screen are icons:
Video camera
Microphone
Plus sign
Signal Bars

Right click on the plus sign and a menu comes up.
Pick the option to take a screen snapshot.
When the person is ready, just click the screen, and it takes the picture.
