Thanks Vincent.
The first video was very poignant and unforgettable. It would be an amazing collection to see.

I will look at the second one later.

A new one on me. Thanks, Vincent. So much has changed in such a short time, though some might still prefer to hide their faces, it's now their own choice and not fear of being discharged.

I want to see the other one too, when time permits.

About 10 minutes into the movie and it looks good. I hope to watch it tonight!

i was very impressed by what i saw of christopher and his kind. some hearty sexual romps.  the mood sours as the movie rolls on, but, those were the times.

considering the times the movie was released, we NEEDED, desperately needed a gay story with a somewhat happy ending, or at least one with some promise of a future together.

If its the recent BBC version with Matt Smith, then it is excellent.

Loved MAURICE.  It's been 25 years ago since it was released (!).

United in Anger: A History of ACT UP. It's quite amazing to think how this group of activists were able to mobilize and take on the government, the drug companies, the Church, and society in general, and to force change, to force action. Some of these people died during the AIDS crisis, but their work definitely helped those who came after them. Heroic.

The Worlds's Most Fashionable Prison. A Filipino designer teaches fashion to a group at a maximum security prison in the Philippines. Interesting and fun documentary that's full of characters.

I've just recently watched a german gay themed movie from 2011 called "Stadt Land Fluss" ("Harvest") by Benjamin Cantu. Two boys fall in love while working at a rural farming college. It's a slow paced, documentary styled movie which manages to say a lot with very little. The actors are brilliant and I absolutely loved it!

I'm posting a link here to my comments in TDS Response regarding the film "Handsome Harry."   I hope more of you will add it to your watch list.  I do not think you will be disappointed.

I thought it a good move, and somewhat courageous, on Matt Smith's part, especially as he was enjoying new success with Dr Who.

I agree.  It's a slice from that era told thru the eyes of someone who lived it.

I was not expecting some of the full view scenes, but then again, across the pond, the folks there are (IMO) much less hung up about male nudity.   Vincent

From my experience of US tv, Vincent, I'd say we're a lot less hung up about a whole bunch of things. For a reminder, just utube google Graham Norton and see what I mean. Cheesy
