Well, I'm all set, and ready to go!

Here are all the supplies I have......

Each bundle has 15 post cards, 35 fliers, and 40 business.  I've targeted 5 bars in the Village area.

Here is a shot of the flyer I printed up, with a mountain scene in the background.  My hands are not steady, so the image may appear "not straight-like me".....it's the way I took the pic.  The flyer is printed correctly.  Cheesy  Cheesy

That is so cool, Chuck! Your adding the mountains to the flyer helps a bunch!
You look like you're all organized and ready to go!

Many thanks!

Brokeback Mountain will be playing at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

We are going to try to get them to play the book video before the movie.

We are also going to do some marketing at The Best Buck In The Bay Rodeo.  http://www.bestbuckinthebay.com/
The deadline for vendor applications is Aug 31

Just to let you know that I did attend the Capital Pride street festival in Washington, DC, on June 10.  The social club I belong to had a booth, so I spent most of the afternoon there, with a stack of "Beyond Brokeback" business cards, postcards, and flyers which I printed on various colored paper.  I also had a copy of the book with me to show to interested parties.  It was a beautiful day, and the wind even helped to distribute the flyers.  A gust came along and scattered some of them across the street.  I've been depositing business cards and postcards here and there in bookstores and the local library.

I'm also looking forward to receiving a few DVD copies of the book video from BC John.

Great jobs, Nova and Chuck - thanks for all your hard work.  It's greatly appreciated.

John - go get 'em, cowboy!  Hopefully it'll be a packed house.

John, my gosh, you get things done and in such a big way! WOW! At the Castro, no less. I hope it works out!

Nova, I'm impressed! Even getting the wind to help in distribution! Good move, Bob!  Wink\

Each of these efforts will be helpful in getting the word out. Thanks so much!

Thanks, but the credit goes to Eric (sfericsf) for getting the Castro to show our movie.

I'm posting this link in all the book threads, thought everyone who worked on the book in some way should see it.

It's to a post in the "How Brokeback Affected Me" thread.

IT'S WORKING!

Over the past few weeks while the book team made necessary corrections, the only real marketing effort has been the use of our marketing tools, (postcards, fliers, business cards) and the marketing at Pride events discussed in this thread.

Even at a time when Amazon shows our book as unavailable, we learned from WingSpan that in the past two weeks they have received orders for 19 hardbacks and 29 softcovers.

Who did that?  YOU.  Thank you!

This proves that our Pride effort and other distribution of the marketing materials has been working.

To put this into some perspective, our book is mostly unknown to everyone outside of our forum.  It has not been reviewed or advertised other than through our e-mails and marketing materials.  To sell a total of nearly 50 books in the past two weeks shows that the materials are effective, and they have been reaching the right people.

Thanks to your effort, we now have only 200 books left to sell at WingSpan.  (These sales are separate from Amazon.)

For all of you who have distributed our materials, thank you very much!

For those of you who still have Pride events coming up, or if you have any other appropriate groups where you might spread the world, please make the extra effort.  The results will be worth it.

And don't forget, we still have free postcards and business cards.  Just PM me if you would like some.
