Brokeback is STILL affecting me......

Nothing yet here on Vancouver Island. Then again, I only received my postcard from 'Ennis' yesterday.

Hoping for delivery before I leave for Denver next week....

Ennis, admit it,you're falling in love.

I still haven't received the books, but I'm a patient man.

My patience these days is being taxed by University of California's Film Quarterly on BBM I ordered a MONTH ago!!!
I'm sincerely wondering if I was swindled.

They don't respond to my E-Mails.

john-john --

A couple people have received their Film Quarterlies this week!  Lyle (Mooska) in L.A., and Whiplash in Illinois.  So -- probably we have not been swindled.

But if my mag doesn't come by tomorrow afternoon I will write again to the head of circulation there.  (He answers my e-mails -- at least he did the last time!)

I received my magazine a few days ago and I had ordered mine
on April 16th.  It was sent from around San Francisco and I'm in L.A. so I would think yours should be arriving soon...

My copy of the Film Quarterly arrived yesterday, so don't worry, they are trickling out, just like the book! (I'm in Sacramento, less than 100 miles from Berkeley/SF.)

Haven't had time to look through it yet--it would have to come the same week as the book and the week before the Colorado BBQ!

Mine arrived today (hardback ordered in March I think)...it's beautiful to look at.....I want to savor its contents....so many wonderful words...so much heartfelt emotion.....I'll have to take it a bit at a time.  I am so overwhelmed that my own small story was included. There is no way to fully thank  those that brought this idea to reality....but Thank You All none-the-less.

I received my second order of books today and they got forwarded from San Antonio, so I thought that was pretty good.

I have been reading some in between getting things done at the house and I am still touched by all the stories, whether I was familiar with them or not. The ones I know I still read with joy and the new ones give me that sense of wonder and fulfillment as I once again relive people's reactions.

Thanks again to all who contributed and who made this possible.

Okay, depression has lifted I got my first order of a hard copy and a soft copy!  All is well with the world.

I'm moving into my own apartment so I'm 'out' and I'm 'out!'

One disappointment is that I asked for anonymity and to only use my forum name, but they put my full name under in the credits in the front of the book.  What the hell...might as well.

I'm so glad that you got your books, Bobby.
I panicked when you mentioned that we incorrectly used your full name, but I have a copy of an August email to Elvan from you giving us permission to use your full name with Phoenix as the location. I hope you're Ok with that now, Bobby.

Question.....I really dont know why I did not give permission for the use of my full name.  Can that be changed in future printings?

MY BOOK ARRIVED! I have not been able to read it -- my hands are shaking too much! But I opened it and leafed through the pages. Then I held it up to my face and inhaled...it smells so good -- don't you just love that new-book smell? And that beautiful creamy-colored paper, it's just perfect.

This must sound crazy, responding to a book in every way EXCEPT to the writing it contains...but I am just too overwhelmed to do anything else right now. So I will post more later and leave you all with two comments for now:

1. As a book editor by trade, I can tell you that this book looks as professional and inviting as any book I've seen. Please pat yourselves and each other on the back for doing an amazing job!

2. As a fan of the film, I am proud to see the combined efforts of the forum members in service to the story that touched our lives so deeply. I'm in awe of you all (especially you, KittyHawk!).

Congrats and much love to you!

Things are so screwy in life right now.  I started moving my stuff into an apartment.  We've lived in our current home for 31 years, so it is hard.  But it's a grrrr8! apartment and all MINE!  It will take me a week to get my Internet service up and running, but after that I intend to get back into the forum big time.
