"the books.... the books"  as the little guy said to Ricardo...

"de plane... de plane" and now "de books... de books".

They have been sighted - by the little guy as well as paintedshoes and a friend of mine in Kentucky.
Surely we'll hear  of others arriving today? I hope.

Be kind to your post person. Wink

That's 5 booksthat I know of that arrived today.
It's a slow trickle.

I'm sorry about maturben's loss. I know he's been caring for his mother for months.

My order arrived today (now yesterday).  To say that the book is magnificent does not do it justice.  I'm overwhelmed just looking at the dustcover.

And Jonathan in Sacramento got his yesterday - only 100 miles from the publisher!

What's that about a watched pot never boiling? Maybe that strategy would help!  Wink

I try, I really do try not to get too excited because of this. It's likely that I won't get my order delivered here before I leave to USA next week.

But a man can hope.

Lest anyone think that, as the book project coordinator, I am receiving preferential treatment as to book shipment, I thought I'd let you know I have not yet received my own order!  Grin  Angry Wink

Yes, I received the early quality control copy and yes, I received an order of 15 books to be used as promotional items for reviewers and such, but I have not yet received my own personal order placed months and months ago!   Undecided   &#$%^ media mail!!!

Anyone know how else to contact them?

Danac, that won't help. When they receive letters asking about delivery they forward them to me.

Their web server is also down today.

The stars must be temporarily out of alignment for them.

Give them a little more time and they'll get it all straightened out.

After another week, if your books haven't been delivered, you can let me know and I'll compile a list so they can check on them all together.

Me, too! Me, too!

I thought surely we'd have some more reader reactions by now...  Undecided

I'm also hoping folks will help look for errors so we can correct them in the second printing!

How do you want this feedback, Lydia?  Do you want a new thread just to report these?  Cause I saw a couple... of course neglected to make note of them.   Undecided

Hello All

I just received my copies of one hardcover and one softcover in San Francisco. I originally ordered them on 28 March 2007.

Both publications are awesome. The cover design came out beautifully and the artwork inside is just slightly out of focus, exactly right for the artistic concept you started with.

I've only read a couple of posts fully but have skimmed through the entire book. I read EnnisInIdaho's condensced post and was impressed at how beatifully the myriad original posts (which I cut and pasted and have in their entirety) were integrated. I also see that Paul Mejack's entire series of posts were included. That may have been the single most touching post for me out of thousands which I've slaveishly read over the past year.

I can't speak high enough praise for the efforts of all concerned. Let's hope this book has the same surprisingly universal acceptance as the film. Congratulations to all!
