We hope we'll get a response from at least a few of them and if we do, we'll definitely post it here and put it in TDS.

I just really wonder what they'll think about the book. They certainly couldn't have received anything like this before.  Wink

I'm SO looking forward to what their reaction might be!

Hi,

I've finished reading the book but have been away from computer access.  Someone may have already mentioned these, if so please disregard, but here's what I found.

page xii  Under "Moderators," see Firtz (Fritzkep)
Arlington, Virginia is misspelled as "Arlingotn"  (transposition of characters)

page 112  line 1 on the page (continuation of poem "Regrets for Never Were")
There is a period in front of the first word "And" -- period doesn't belong there

page 15  In the conversation between "Hubby" and "Me" in "Twilight Zone"
In the last two-line statement by "Hubby," there is an ellipsis (three dots).  The first dot is on the first line; the second and third dots are on the second line.  It looks funny.  If there's not room for them all on the top line, I think they should all go on the bottom line.

Small potatoes really.  Congratulations for a great book.

Debbie, I've heard that when Amish women make quilts, they deliberately throw in a little pattern variation so that they will not offend God by attempting to reach perfection, as only he can.

It's not for that reason, but the next edition of our book will not be absolutely perfect either. Readers caught about 3 dozen imperfections which we have corrected for the next printing. I don't believe we caught the second and third errors you listed. We did fix Arlington, however.

Thank you for reading so carefully and letting us know. About a week earlier and we could have done something about all three of them. I hope you're enjoying the book, even with those small potatoes.  Smiley

My copy of the book arrived a couple of days ago, courtesy of BBMBLISS (thanks Sarah Kiss)...

I could only look at the cover for a couple of days...

And last night got the courage to open it, and read Dave's introduction... It was fantastic, and despite being someone that posted on the original blog (under a different name), I did not know how and why the blog came about, so it was great to read...

I then picked one story at random to read, which surprised me as it had me in tears... I really thought I was all cried out about our stories...!

I think it will take me a long long time to read the book, especially if each of the stories are as moving...(which I am guessing they will be)...!

The presentation, chaptering etc is excellentt, and its amazing to me, that I have been part of the forum for 1 1/2 years which produced this wonderful book...

Thanks so so so so so much to all involved

Received my two soft cover copies while I was away -- started to read a few of the essays/stories/accounts? right away.  I must admit I was blown away by some of the most poignant, uplifting, courageous accounts I've ever read!  I wish I knew a few of these people personally so I could tell them how I admire them for not only telling their stories, but for living them as well.

I plan to give one of my copies to a lesbian friend, and will be interested in hearing her comments when she gets a chance to read it.

Thanks to all who worked on this astonishing book.

I'm posting this link in all the book threads, thought everyone who worked on the book in some way should see it.

It's to a post in the "How Brokeback Affected Me" thread.

Received a humbling gift today from Charlotte (Royandronnie), the original draft of her poem "No Little Thing" which appears on p. 100.  Here was my response to her:

"Dear Charlotte,

This ain't no little thing you've sent me.
Tell you what,  I've got a copy of Beyond Brokeback
and it's goin in it, right next to the printed version.

Charlotte, Thank you so much, I swear...

Larry"
