My books arrived yesterday when I had no time to look at them, much to do to prepare for a vacation.  But I did take time to open the package.  The dust jacket was not a visual surprise (I had admired it many time here on the forum) but when I touched it I was startled by its seductive satin quality.  So I was drawn into it's pages, telling myself that I would only take a few moments to see what it looked like.

I found it beautiful on all levels: The paper, its quality and color; the type face and size that invited me to come in and look around; the organization in chapters, whose titles tantalized and suggested that I stay a while.  I read and was very moved by the first chapter.  Then reality struck and I realized that if I didn't close the book and set it down, I would be leaving on vacation with empty suitcases.

As I was folding and packing clothes last night, Jonathan and James came into my mind and I was drawn back into their story.  They would not go away.  Later, about 2am I was awakened by our dogs barking.  After quieting them down I had trouble getting back to sleep.  Jonathan and James were there to keep me company until I drifted off.  When I awoke this morning I was still feeling sadness for the years that they had lost.  I feel now like I did after first seeing Brokeback Mountain, a quiet but insistent ache that will not go away.

To all of you who worked on Beyond Brokeback, thank you for the treasure you have produced.  I look forward to getting back in the book.  I am convinced that it will be a fulfilling, but not emotionally easy journey.

Son of a bitch, son of a bitch, the book arrived.  As easily as the right key turns the lock tumblers, the stories come together, and hard... drawing blood and tears from our souls...

Little Darlins, you have done it!

Does anyone know why the purchase link at the book website is broken? Should I buy it through Amazon?
Is there some other issue going on with supply?

Thanks.

Rick, WingSpan's server has been down all day, but I expect it is only a temporary problem. You might give them another try tomorrow or the next day.

The book is not yet available from Amazon or any source.  The book is only available through the Forum and WingSpan for now and for the next several weeks. We will make any necessary corrections in this first printing before re-printing it and allowing Amazon et al. to sell it.

Thanks for your patience.
