Chris and Lydia, if that does not work out, I will ask a Chinese girl I work with. She told me some of her best friends were gay men.

You can go ahead and ask her anyway the more people who can the faster we can get it done.

Hey, folks,

Do any of you know someone that could translate our book flyer into Mandarin? We've got a nice selection of European languages but nothing for the far east.  Undecided

- KH

Lydia,
Forum member Zuraffo translated my story into Mandarin.

It sounds like we have several possibilities for the Mandarin translation. Let me know when you have lined someone up for sure. You can show them the English version here: http://www.davecullen.com/forum/index.php?topic=2016.msg809687#msg809687

Mejack, do you have Zuraffo's version of your story electronically? If so, with his and your permission, I'd love to post it on our sample stories page. There are not many, but there are a few people from Asia who peek into the Forum occasionally.

I've never seen the translation. Permission to use it was granted, but I've never seen the results. You certainly have my permission to use whatever Zur has done.

Dear Chris,

Yes, it is great! Tomorrow morning I'm heading out to Colorado for the barbecue to spend the weekend with over 75 people from the various BBM forums, and it is really wonderful to know that they're all friends, even though I've never met 74 of them! It should be a great weekend.

I wonder how many other people have stories that they have made themselves forget. Who could believe it? And yet it's true.

By "the ballet/the music," do you mean the Trocs? Of course I remember them! In fact, they were passengers on my plane from New York to South Africa! I couldn't figure out what was going on with all that traipsing up and down the aisles and the frequent costume changes!

Jonathan

Dear Jonathan,
I should think you're there by now - have a great time. I hope there will be  group photo of the book authors which could go on the website for the book. Maybe only a few will be there.
Yes - if had not that experience myself I would not have believed I could live in denial for many years. No-one had lied - it was just a misunderstanding between two decent, honest and thoroughly well-intentioned people. Depression played a part too.
Yes, the Trocs - I wondered, because you will obviously remember, what the music/dance was. Them being on the plane sounds pretty unforgettable, I was once on a plane with a Papua New Guinean dance group in full regalia, mainly body paint, in that case Cheesy
Enjoy the fun

Chris !  This is a Fabulous Idea!!!  We've had a lot of ideas about what to do since we do have this wonderful collection of the authors.  We will have quite a few of them this weekend.  I'll be sure we do this!

And volunteers need to be in the pic, too - not just authors!
Or maybe two separate pics?

Well, I mean everyone I suppose - but reading this book is such a heartwarming experience, you'd have to have a heart of stone not to be touched, and the smiles will really reinforce the message  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy. Yes of course I mean everyone, there is a very impressive list of those hardworking volunteers at the front of the book.

seems to me our polylinguist fritzkep has a passing knowledge of mandarin, and the keyboard on which to type it.  he may not be that far along in his studies though.  couldn't hurt to ask, though...

Our polytalented Chris has asked a friend of his to help us out with this task. If they are not able to do it, we'll definitely check with Fritz. Thanks, Jack.
