It did? How did you find that out? I haven't heard anything myself.
I ordered my DVD from Amazon, and it came intact. No problems with that in the post.

You are so right about the framing costing $$$! We have tons of artwork prints around our house that we would like to put up, but don't want to spend the family fortune framing them all.

Has there been any more word of a Deluxe set with out takes and deleted scenes?

It's not sold in the outlet. I went to ask in DVD shops.

Ordering from amazon shouldn't be a problem though.

I don't know about any ban here on the DVD. Since the PAL version is not out yet anywhere, I just assumed that it's only a matter of time befroe they do sell it in Singapore. I got my US/NTSC version more than two weeks ago, and it plays well enough, so I'm not complaining.

It's not a ban. The guy in the DVD shop just told me that the "authority" hasn't decided whether to allow selling the DVD due to the content. Which is kinda weird cause the "authority" had no problem showing the movie in the theatre. I am not sure how the encoding will affect the whether the DVD are sold, since nowadays you can get players which support all kinds of regional coding, and I imagine the vendor would happily sell anything that can turn a profit.

I am sure it's only a matter of time.  Roll Eyes

Know what you mean.  Had two BBM posters framed.  The shirts & Ennis and Jack(the film poster).  It cost four times as much to have them framed, then when I got them home realized I had forgotten to mention non-reflective glass.  So back they went for a change of glass that cost $80 more.

I don't think it's weird at all. it was rated R21 for theatre screenings here, where some amount of restriction could be imposed. DVD sales would be a much more difficult issue to resolve. Anyone can buy it and have it shown to kids. There's no control once the DVD is sold.

Old (as of April 17) BO from BOMOJO:  http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=brokebackmountain.htm

I think not everything is here, but it's another tidbit, eh?

Foreign Total as of Apr. 17, 2006:
$91,230,695

Note: Overall foreign totals are updated weekly for most currently playing movies. The country breakdowns are updated less frequently and do not necessarily add up to the foreign totals.

Yeah, I know this is very rough ... but it's an idea of where we're going.  Earlier, I posted over $202mil, but that's prolly from other figures from other sources.  Let's hope the larger figure is correct!  What I've posted here is incomplete ... so there's hope.   Roll Eyes

I am on a business trip to Sri Lanka, of all places, and Sky Sport Asia  is advertising  a calf roping event that fearures the iconic BBM trailer pix except with two non-descript guys replacing Heathcliff and Jake.  Wow, can you imagine this? In Singapore last week one of the clothing stores was promoting the cowboy look--it was obvious that it was the result of the BBM phenomenon.

Brokeback Mountain is still in theaters and in Top 10 both in Finland (9.) and Norway (9). Both are small markets but in both countries Brokeback has earned almost 1 mil USD in box office respectively.

BBM is still in theaters in Sweden, too, and it's number 7 in the top 10!

Where I live, runs in the arty little cinema, and in the first three months this year this cinema increased its sales with 50% compared to the same period last year. They said to the paper that this was largely thanks to BBM  Grin

Wish someone from Japan would write and tell us how much money it made there-Never was listed in the Top Ten over there so maybe they just ignored the film for some reason

I've been looking for data too, but I've found none.

Worse, during my time in Japan (Apr 8..14 and Apr 29..May 4), I saw almost no evidence of BBM.  I found one cinema in Shibuya (thanks to someone here), but it was an art house.

I really expected BBM to be HUGE in Japan, but I see no evidence for it.
