I am well -- thanks, Pete.  I know you've been incredibly busy (in fact, I see you're now so busy you have two titles?).  I'm just kinda wandering around checking out new threads these days.  (Gave up trying to keep up with all of them long ago.)

If we take into the account of unrecorded viewings, especially those without official sanction, we'll probably need to double the oversea takings.  Grin Grin

I generally oppose the idea of pirated videos, but in the case of oppressed countries where it is banned, I am totally in favor of it.  It must be so reassuring to closeted gays in places where their lives are in danger.

Pooh
Uhhmm yeah, were it is banned, were homosexuality is illegal and perhaps were a months wages if you are lucky amounts to 30$ a month!

Any news on the international box-office numbers? I assume BOMojo has stopped updating since it's domestic run has ended? Is that true?

http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/2005/BRKMT.php

This site has worldwide figures up to early June, & notes (although this probably isn't current) that the overall gross of the film is $173.9 million.  It doesn't appear to take account of the DVD/video sales so far.

Brokeback Mountain DVD sales were 1.4 Million units sold the first day out. Sales for the first week made it the second fastest selling DVD that week. The first was Disney's"Narnia", with 4 million units sold. That't the latest sales info I could find.
I suspect that Brokback Mountain will maintain strong sales even after the other DVD's have declined. It appears that it will become a perrenial favourite.

Anyone know where the film is playing after today, if anywhere?

I'm leaving work in about 45 minutes to watch the last showing I can find in the SF Bay Area, in SF at 4:50.

If you think about the fact that it opened in early December and it's finally ending in late April that's about four and a half months that it was consistently playing in theatres.  THAT'S a heck of a long time for ANY movie.

WooHoo!

This is interesting, since Box Office Mojo says the movie closed its theatrical run on April 20th, yet it is still playing in SF.

I guess maybe Focus just stopped tracking its receipts on 4/20.

You might want to study this BO for gay/lesbian movies on Numbers  http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/series/GayLesbian.php

Way too much to copy here, but very interesting ...
