BBM did indeed make quite an impact in Singapore. There was practically inexsistent publicity, if not for the frequent and glowing coverage in the press, from a film critic who confessed to crying, snippets about winning awards and the cast and crew, to analytical readings of the movie.

It ran for almost 2 months, which is phenomenal when you consider how shortlived movie screenings usually are over here.

Sunday, May 7 marked the end of Brokeback's run in Washington, DC.  It had played since December at an AMC Cinema in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, not far from my apartment.  I will miss seeing the poster of Jack and Ennis as I take my daily walk through theneighborhood!   Cry

On the other hand, I bought a copy of the movie poster that I am going to have framed.  Jack and Ennis will soon look down upon me from the wall as I sleep.

Its funny CRASH did better in DVD sales than the BO $$.  Makes one think don't it One should try to find out the total BO $$ with overseas amount included.  Thats would tell a story too. Again thanks for the update, Jack.

That's a great job, Pug.  I love how you picked up the colors in Heath's hat for the mat.  I may do the same when I finally get around to getting mine framed.

I agree.  To paraphrase Ennis, "That don't look right."

http://imdb.com/title/tt0375679/business

Here's some info, but I don't have time to make any sense of it ... included are numbers from UK, etc.

Have fun!

And from BOMOJO:  http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=crash05.htm

TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES
Domestic:  $54,580,300    58.3%
+ Foreign:  $39,039,690    41.7%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

= Worldwide:  $93,619,990
(I believe none of this includes dvd sales/rentals.)

add $64.3mil in sales for total of 'just' $157.9mil / contrast $202.mil for BBM

Thanks WLAGuy...I made a the person who helped me a total nervous wreck because I was so nervous about the poster.  I had to bring it back 2 X because they had to adjust it  because it wasn't placed correctly behind the mats and it slipped.  It is not dry mounted.  Just be prepared for sticker shock when you do it.  If you go for plexi  (and UV resistant plexi) and acid free this and that...oh boy $$$).  But I'm glad I did it just the same.  Thanks for the compliment on the colors...selecting the mats was difficult but I am very happy with the final result.

I just found out the authority blocked the sales of the DVD in SG. It's kinda puzzling. Unless they are also waiting for the Deluxe version to be release?  Shocked
