And thanks for speaking up in my behalf. I think if anything SHOULD be laughed at and made fun of, it WOULD be violence [not the real kind, though. . .I would NEVER do that.]. The bikers were beggin' for it [metaphorically speaking] and in Ennis's confrontation with the pick-up truck driver, I think self-hating Ennis was beggin' for it for just being outed as a queer. If anything, the WHOLE story is about the violence that we do to ourselves and others, especially to those we love. To laugh in the face of adversity is a small victory of sorts. Anyways, FWIW. . .
