Can anyone tell me what the latest is on the ad campaign? Are we definite in the next issue of Variety?

Much thanks to all.

Val, Gazdu, humble-mom - it's all set isn't it? Assuming this post that's been all over the board is correct, all you have to do is phone Variety and give them $6.95 on a credit card. (I asked when I called and they do not take single issue orders on-line - you have to call on the phone.)

Our ad will be printed in the March 10 edition of Daily Variety.

To order:

Call the circulation desk and tell them you want to pre-order the March 10 issue of DAILY Variety. The cost is $6.95 (including shipping and handling) for Daily Variety. Priority shipping is available for an additional charge. You will need to specify the exact date of the issue when ordering -- the operators cannot search for the proper issue. To order, please call circulation. For Daily Variety: (800) 552-3632. International subscribers should call 1-515-247-2993.

It's easy!

Not one place to purchase Variety in Lexington, KY.  Looks like I will be ordering through customer service.  The ad is amazing! Thank you to all!

All apologies as I asked about this previously but can't find any responses but...
Is there a way to donate by sending a check?

Eric,
I will gladly make a paypal donation on your behalf if you want.
You could then mail me a check.
If you want to pursue, post your email address or phone number and I shall call or email you.

Regards,
MarkC

I just talked to the circulation desk and they can NOT take pre-orders.  She said to call monday to try and get a back issue, and it's not certain they will have back issues of each issue.

I found this Post-Oscar Tribute to BBM. Done by a member of this board perhaps? I don't know. I think everyone who watches it will appreciate and enjoy, even be moved by it.

Yep, that's one of our members.  He first announced and linked to it in our "BBM Support Group" thread.

There is another tribute to BBM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnJzpvdtv1o&search=brokeback%20mountain

I find both extremely moving. Whoever created them, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I hope they'll be available to download at some point. I'd like to archive them for personal use.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Dave and everyone else who was involved in getting this add and press release together.  What an excellent, professional and dynamic job!  You guys are just awesome! Grin

I have posted about this ad on the Carpetbagger blog, at the NY Times. Since the comments on the blog are moderated, I do not know if they will see fit to put up my post or not. They may see it as too much of a press release, or as off-topic. But anyway, I have tried to get the word out, using some phrases from the press release.

I've posted this before but the way this thread is going it was like 30 pages ago . The Variety.com site explains :

How can I get printed issues of Daily Variety and Weekly Variety?

Archives of Daily Variety and Weekly Variety print issues date back two years. If the issue you want falls within these dates, please call our circulation desk to check availability. The cost is $6.95 (including shipping and handling) for Daily Variety and $10 (including shipping and handling) for Weekly Variety. Special issues (such as our Oscar specials) are individually priced. Priority shipping is available for an additional charge. You will need to specify the exact date of the issue when ordering -- the operators cannot search for the proper issue. To order, please call circulation. For Daily Variety: (800) 552-3632. For Weekly Variety: (800) 323-4345. International subscribers should call 1-515-247-2993.

I sent the press release to:

San Francisco Chronicle
San Francisco Bay Guardian
SF Bay Times
SF Weekly

I was curious why no mention of homophobia in the press release?
