Dave,

The latest ad is gorgeous, and I love the addition of Ang Lee's partial quote ''two people who don't even exist.'' Brilliant. Paired with the photo, it's a beautiful acknowledgment of Jack and Ennis. ... Drafting an ad by consensus is insanely impossible, but thank you for taking the time to address our various concerns. In the long run, it's the end product that counts ... and your hard work, dedication and willingness to listen has produced a gem. It's something we can be all proud of.

The suits at the movie studio where I slave read Variety and then leave it for the hoi polloi.  Then they go to the round file.

I'm gonna try to snark the 'hoi polloi' issues and send 'em out.

I've noted in the above poll how many issues I want, and I assume that's only to alert Variety as to how many we will order.  Is that correct?  I assume I still must go to their site or call them to place the actual order, right?  No hurry on this, I know there's way too much stuff to get done.  Just wondering.

If possible, please put the press release in the most conspicous place possible.  That way people like me who are at work can quickly search for it every free minute we get until you are able to post it.  Can't wait.

I agree.  I don't like saying that Jack and Ennis "don't exist".  They are certainly real to all of us or we wouldn't have spent countless hours and shed countless tears on their behalf.  Hope it's not too late to make that change!?

That sounds good. Dunno if it'll diverge too much from Ang's version, and how will it affect the visuals.

I don't wanna be annoying, and it's not even because he's Latin, but Gustavo Santaolalla should be among the people you thank. He created the original score, and won several awards, including the Oscar, for that. The rest of the ad is perfect. Now I really ougth to get some sleep, I have an early meeting tomorrow morning.  Wink

Please check back tomorrow to see the press release (if Dave ever gives it back to me  Wink ). EVERYONE can copy it and send it to your favorite places and local papers (it will help if they get several copies of the same release from a number of different email addys). We have a nice team now handling the distribution to our very large list (thanks to Lara and others).

You can also check out the new web page tomorrow and give some feedback (I know, you guys hate to give feedback).

Tomorrow is publicity today. If ALL of you send the posted press release to just five media sources or web outlets we could blanket the world with the press release.
