If anyone gets an extra copy of Variety, I would love to have it.  I think the end product of the ad is masterful and moving.  It communicates our love for this movie and its effects perfectly.

Thank you.

THIS AIN"T OVER!

Please check back tomorrow to see the press release (if Dave ever gives it back to me  Wink ). EVERYONE can copy it and send it to your favorite places and local papers (it will help if they get several copies of the same release from a number of different email addys). We have a nice team now handling the distribution to our very large list (thanks to Lara and others).

Thanks to all of you.

Hi Pete,

Is this pic in?  I love it.  I love it.  I love it.

This ad is wonderful.  I will be contributing as much as I can.

Question:

Are we allowed to send this to our friends to let them know what we are doing and ask them to pass it on?

Many of us have friends in the media who also have friends in the media.

Me might have support and angelic guidance from unexpected places.

If we could have some guidelines on what the Press Release is, who we may send it to, and can we just pass it along to friends and ask them to share it with everyone they know?

These ever expanding circles are a great way to share this message Smiley

God bless.

Thank you every one for your hard, hard work.

This board is such a blessing.

Dave and others,  the latest version of the ad is fantastic.  It may not be 100% what eveyone wants, but it incororates as much as humanly possible the many suggestions and contributions made by posters.  I live in Hollywood and will report any reaction from my several industry friends -- there is a lot of outrage here about what happened, and this fantastic statement will help focus that energy in a productive manner.  Thanks so much for all who made this possible.   Cheesy

Just thought of something:  "an unprecedented consensus", or, maybe,

"UNPRECEDENTED ACCLAIM"

Just a thought.  Now good night for really real.

The answer is yes. We want the press release and the copy of the ad to get as wide a distribution as possible. Very important. I will soon post the press release and post it on the first thread.

EDIT FROM DAVE:

Yes, definitely, BUT PLEASE DON'T DISTRIBUTE THE AD UNTIL WE FINALIZE IT. WE'RE CHANGING THE WEBSITE URL, ADDING THE THANK YOU NAMES, AND ADDING A CLEARER LOGO.

We'll let you know when we have a final.

I LOVE THIS AD

p.s. do you realize you took us out of a funk-had us all pitch in and get constructive and get out of our despair at losing best pic award and concentrate on just how many awards we have won....come out with a classy, high road ad and made us all better human beings with a positive bent on things.  wow...amazing.  from the bottom of my feet to the top of my hair thanks.  lemons from lemonade.  for sure.

DAVE, PETE:

Just want to make sure you got my prior posts for the "extra" award spot, if you still want it:    SIGHT AND SOUND POLL

You can say "Sight and Sound", you can say "Sight and Sound Poll", you can say "Sight and Sound Critics Poll", I don't think there is an official name - but they did name Brokeback Best Picture.
The more I think about it (as I try to sleep), the more I realize I should have pushed for this sooner.  SIGHT AND SOUND is the most prestigious film magazine.  Once a decade ending in "2", they poll world film critics for the best films ever made.  The list is revered by film buffs the world over.  Recently, they started doing critics polls for the best of each year, and of course Brokeback won.  I strongly suggest that if you still have the space, go with it, industry types will take notice.  Thanks.

I've noted in the above poll how many issues I want, and I assume that's only to alert Variety as to how many we will order.  Is that correct?  I assume I still must go to their site or call them to place the actual order, right?  No hurry on this, I know there's way too much stuff to get done.  Just wondering.

that's correct.

our rep thinks she can get the print run increased for us, but needs a ballpark estimate of what we're likely to order, collectively (though we will actually do it individually.)
