"...the entire cast & crew, plus two people who don't even exist - Jack & Ennis."
  [/b]

Yeah, that's better.

Of course if there is room and will to change "...the entire cast & crew, plus two people who don't even exist, Annie Proulx's Jack & Ennis"    The writer cannot be praised enough IMHO

“Here is Draft 7, which is final except for three changes Ned is still working on:”

Dave... you, and all the folks that have worked so hard,  done good!!!  Invoking Jack and Ennis is what was needed. It carries the Spirits that have been with this journey since Annie Proulx spent so many months rasseling these men on to paper with her words. I couldn't be more blown away by this accomplishment.
Garry
Next... do we need a thread to discuss how we want to point out to the public how little the Academy requires of its voting members? For a program that is put on with such pomp and circumstance, I would think the Oscar folks would want their awards to have some value beyond, 'oh, that sounds like a pretty title, I think I'll vote for that.'

Because if the Academy refuses to address this severe shortcoming, I would like to know how to make it plainly apparent to the rest of the public how little these awards mean come next year. (besides getting a really nice paper weight)
All in good time Garry, all in good time.

The boiz got this done in time for Friday's Daily Variety (the day that Crash has a limited theatrical re-release).  Let 'em get some sleep and take a deep breath, for God's sake.

If you're short copies of Variety I'm happy to scoop up all the copies around me and mail them to someone for distribution as a donation. Should be about 10-30 copies depending on how early I get out there.

IMO, SUNSPOT'S last comments may have seemed small, but they are really good from a visual perspective.  Thanks.

One last question Dave before nap time. If you should hear from anyone at Focus or maybe Ang or Heath or Jake or, well you know, you will be sure to let us all know, right?

Good Night and...not gonna say it.

Sorry if this post is a bit incoherent, I've been drinking Jack 'n Cokes and enjoying the postings all evening.

Plus I'm weeping copiously after viewing the final ad.

BRAVISSIMO!

Dave, when this all settles down, PM me your phone #.  Wink, wink!

GORGEOUS ad.  All of the hard work was totally worth it.  Kudos to all that worked so hard, through so many late nights, with day jobs, to actually DO something to right this injustice.

I will be giving as much as I can afford to Round 2 (the national media).  Something tells me that this will resonate so far beyond what a Best Picture win would have given us Brokies.  Life gave us lemons, and we made lemonade.

it is kind of like it john kerry had been elected than the world would not have known how really horribly awful, corrupt and dangeous this administation really is--and i n c o m p e t e n t --so it is almost =almost the key word = a blessing that kerry was not elected.  but then again, what a mess and how many deaths and horrible happenings for poor and elderly has dubya caused?  sigh
That's a whole 'nother issue.  Right now, we need to concentrate on saving our film.

Saving the world is next week's problem.

I don't know, seems like being a Republican has turned me into one right wing baby killing church going sob hard ass. Kinda like it if it made any sense what-so-ever. Then again I might feel better if it came with one of those rebel flags to wave.

THIS AIN"T OVER!

There is still a lot of work to do.

Please check back tomorrow to see the press release (if Dave ever gives it back to me  Wink ). EVERYONE can copy it and send it to your favorite places and local papers (it will help if they get several copies of the same release from a number of different email addys). We have a nice team now handling the distribution to our very large list (thanks to Lara and others).

You can also check out the new web page tomorrow and give some feedback (I know, you guys hate to give feedback).

Tomorrow is publicity today. If ALL of you send the posted press release to just five media sources or web outlets we could blanket the world with the press release.

So, please check in tomorrow and give us a hand!

Thanks to all of you.

About snatching up all copies of Variety ... uh ... don't we want people to see the ad?

I thought people only grabbed 'em up to keep others from reading something ....

I LOVE the reference to Jack and Ennis....it makes all the difference having their names in there. Smiley   Kiss
For sure, their names belong there, thank you.
And I know that Ennis and Jack are grateful to us, for doing this..
