Lil Squaw!  Cheesy Cheesy  Almost as implausible as "sweetie."  Roll Eyes

You know, three people from this forum have had face time with Jake Gyllenhaal and not one of them asked him this important question!  Angry

Hah!  But, you've got to admit that the-

"Come 'ere...  ...   ...   You ok?  You ok? ...Shhh... shhh..."

Is pretty damn sweet!

The first question I asked when I joined this site was Does anyone else hear Ennis say  "Come over or  "Come on over " just befor Jack slides over on top of Ennis in the second tent scene ?  Some one has mentioned how much more defined Blu-ray is and BBM is going to be or is issued on Blu-ray , has anyone got an answer for me???  To use those unforgettable words   " I swear...."     I hear it.

Hi suelyblu,

If I recall correctly, it just sounds like a lot of squirmy murmuring going on to me.  I doubt Ennis would say anything like "come over" at that point, but I'll watch again this weekend (no, really, go ahead and twist my arm!) and see if I can make anything out. Wink

Good morning chapeaugris!  I have a funny blu-ray update for you all:

Last night, I heard a voice in my kitchen …

(breathlessly)

"Ennis?  …

… Ennis...

(gasp)

... Ennis...

(aah)

… Ennis...

…En?

(sigh)

Ennis….

Come 'ere

(inhaling wheeze)

l i l ’… s…  k…  w…

(gasp)

…You ok…?  You ok…?

Shhh... shhh..."

I peeked around the corner, wondering what was going on...  “What are you doing?” I asked.

“Making macaroni and cheese,” replied my 13 year-old son, who had just returned from baseball practice.

“I can see that!  No, what’s that noise you’re making?”

“Duh, Mom!  You made me watch that part of the movie a hundred times and now I can’t get it out of my head.”

I know it's a total cop-out but i would love to see an alternative ending where Jack nearly dies which shocks Ennis into realising how much he loves him and they live happily ever after on their little cow and calf outfit Grin

and i would be crying happy tears not heartbroken ones Cry

Read some of the slash stuff (there is a thread for this) and you'll find a myriad of alternative endings (or links to them) Wink

Hi suelyblu,

Sorry, but nope.  He doesn't say anything discernable.  It almost sounds like Ennis says something that starts with a "C" or "K," but it is just a sound (on blu-ray) and not a word that can be made out.

Sorry, you'll have to just pretend.

Hi Donnab, Well, I suppose I will have to carry on dreaming that Ennis said "Come over " to Jack, well it's what I would have said if I was in that position (and WHAT a position to be in!!) I bet you thought all your dreams had come true when you heard the conversation coming from the kitchen but it turning out only to be your son. Whatwould you have done if Jack and Ennis HAD been there?? Offerd them coffee and beans ?? !!!

LOL!  Hell yeah!  I would have offered them more than coffee and beans!  And I don't mean 'soup' either!

I have read this whole thread as it's not that long, and it seems to me that the only version available (beside the minimalist release) is the double disc edition which contains trailer(s), some interviews, sth called making-of, cowboy training stuff, photo gallery... and that's about it. Right? So I just need to go to Amazon and order whatever double disc edition I can find there.

Someone from Greece complained about the local release being crappy... well, our local version contains just a trailer (dubbed) and a 15 minute thingy called making-of which contains just a little bit of everything I guess (trailer, interviews, the original making-of, the cowboy stuff). This is also dubbed, it's short and pretty much of a mess. Well, at least, for the film itself I can choose English sound with English subtitles or no subtitles at all. *sigh*

As for the question, what do you want? Everything... haha. Well, deleted scenes mostly, *not* the hippie scene though, that sounds totally out of place. Also, audio commentaries. I seem to recall I own a DVD with a commentary track recorded years after the film came out. So maybe there is hope...

As I have asked for before ...I would like to see all the out takes, mess ups, lighter moments and giggles and laughs, when scenes went wrong.Eg animals just doing their own thing and forgotten lines etc. I know it was a serious film but it would lift it a little to see these things and probably make it more endearing.

I've often wondered about deleted scenes, as well as "bloopers".

yes, it was a serious film, but I remember watching TV Bloopers shows as a kid, always thought they were funny.

Seeing as the holidays are right around the corner, I was wondering: has anyone heard about an improved package of the BBM DVD? It would sure make an ideal gift. If Criterion (sp?) would put out a truly deluxe package, that would be comething to celebrate!
