Hey there R&R!  I posted my thanks and praise specifically about the carols on the Photo Cap thread, but let me elaborate.  They are simply amazing -- and I've been a church musician, singing or playing these carols annually, since I was a tot of single-digit age.  Never will I be able to adequately describe my complete glee and utter admiration for all of the creativity that has been evidenced in the Brokeback carols.  They truly are contributing to my joyeux noel.  Enough of Off-topic text.

I would be very happy to have you drop by.  My residence is in Ft. Lauderdale, which is just a hop, skip and an alligator's jump across the south Florida peninsula from Naples.  I also have family in Naples and my car seems to know exactly how to get from one side of the state to the other on auto-pilot.  Hurry on over, but at least give me a heads up so I could at least give you directions and then make sure all of the dirty dishes are in the dishwasher!

Acquisitions just received today include 1st editions of both "Close Range" (1999) and the UK-published version of BBM (1998).  I wish I could say that they will be on exhibit here in the shrine, but they will shortly be travelling as Christmas gifts to my writing partner (another member of this wonderful forum), where the volumes will be very gratefully and lovingly housed.  I can guarantee that I'll have plenty of other fascinating items to show you.

okay, signature sleuths! what do you think of these signatures, on a BBM movie poster obtained at "the arts of music" store in las vegas... blue marker on a printed poster, with a "certificate of authenticity" on the back of the frame -- a wonderful surprise gift from some friends. the sigs i've seen vary so widely, so would like to know what the "pros" think -- TIA for any opinons on the matter!

Hi gnash!  Based upon the multiple copies of bbm autographs that in my collection, the signatures you posted appear to me to be genuine.  I hope you treasure each and every one of your autographed items, as do I treasure each and every one of mine.

Now for the hot news item -- the famous creel case (that supposedly still had its price tag on for five years) will soon be a part of my collection.  Arrangements were made today around midday, and the creel case will be sent via Czech air mail from its previous owner in Prague.  Here is the famous creel case as photographed by its former owner:
The fishing net will soon be reunited with its creel case partner and the two items will be the crowning jewels of this incredible shrine.

Here's post #400!

News item (not as hot as my previous one however) . . .

The bedroll and blanket just sold again on eBay for $780.  This was a 2nd listing after it remained unbidden for a minimum opening bid of over $1200.

Last Friday night I bought from allposters.com a 46 x 24 poster of BBM and had it matted and framed.  Total cost--$188.00!  I also got a BBM calendar on calendars.com.  I KNOW this is peanuts compared to what so many of you have bought but for me it's a helluva detour from my budget.  I would kill for the poster to signed by Heath and Jake.  Oh Gnash, you are so lucky to have everyone's autographs!   Anyway, this poster and calendar were my Xmas presents to myself.  Ho ho ho indeed.

I just got this t-shirt that I love. It has an outline of a cowboy on a horse and the outline is filled in with rainbow stripes. Otherwise I haven't got much BBM memorabilia, except for magazines that I saved.

Friends,
This may have been asked before, but how many styles of "official posters" exist? I don't mean for each language, but I have seen some variants of the classic Ennis-facing-left, Jack-behind-his-shoulder. One is plain, the other seems to have "curtains" hanging. The poster is on e-bay and they are asking a lot, since it is signed. Is it just a picture of the poster and maybe the "curtains" are really packaging or something? Also, what other posters exist? I think I've seen one of the "I ain't queer" scene as well as the Dozy Embrace. Any information would be welcome either hear or via e-mail. Thanks.

Hey there HR!

I just took a BBM poster search thru eBay, and the only item I saw that looked like it could have "curtains" appears to me to be the poster photographed on some kind of background.  If this doesn't quite match what you've been looking at, please let me know.  I'd like to see it myself!  I have several "editions" of the "official" poster (US English), as well as a Dozy Embrace poster (happens to be "landscape" instead of "portrait") and it contains all of the production info that the "official" poster has.  I acquired my cast-autographed (27x40, 12 signatures) poster in July.  I know there are other poster-size items that utilize the non-official-poster graphic, and they include "for your consideration"-type photographs, such as larger versions of the print ads that were created for the Hollywood publications like Variety and Hollywood Reporter.  Another poster that I have includes the "Rolling Stone" review as well as 7 Golden Globe nominations.  If you can get an cast-autographed poster for a reasonable price, I would say go ahead and do it.  The autographed items, as well as prop or wardrobe items, only increase in value (and in purchase price) over time.  Case in point--as of this evening Jack's brown cowboy hat is currently going for over $10,000, with proceeds going to Variety Children's Charity, just like the sale of the shirts.  Good luck to you on the poster, and let me know what happens.

Thanks. Cheesy Your creel case - oh my God, I am so envious.

Apparently Jack's hat and one of Ennis's shirts were selling on E-bay yesterday...don't know if they've been sold yet or not.

Oh, and I forgot to say before that I have a BBM poster and also a button (the pin kind that British people call a badge) that I made myself. (Sacrificed one of the magazines for the picture.)
